As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Our ideal Barista has a passion for coffee and enjoys interacting with people.
Reports To: Store Manager/Assistant Manager/Shift Lead
Essential Functions:
Beverage Preparation:
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and other beverages according to standard recipes and customer specifications.
Operate and maintain coffee brewing equipment, espresso machines, grinders, and other related tools.
Ensure the quality and consistency of all beverages served.
Understand and adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient, and personalized service.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, utilizing the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients, and promotions.
Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally and effectively, escalating issues to management when necessary.
Build rapport with regular customers and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
Cash Handling and Point of Sale (POS):
Accurately process customer transactions, including cash, credit, and mobile payments.
Maintain a balanced cash drawer and follow all cash handling procedures.
Understand and utilize the POS system for order entry, payment processing, and generating reports.
Maintaining a Clean and Organized Workspace:
Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and customer areas regularly, including counters, tables, floors, and restrooms.
Restock supplies such as coffee beans, milk, cups, and condiments.
Ensure proper storage of all ingredients and supplies.
Follow opening and closing procedures as assigned.
