Bartender - Evening Shift Holiday Inn

Pay Rate :$12 - $16 per hour

Job responsibilities : 

We are looking for a professional, high-energy Bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.

To succeed as a bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To :

1. Creating a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests at the bar.

2. Demonstrate sound knowledge of specialty and classic cocktails (ingredients, specs, build), wine, beer, and beverage offerings.

3. Maintains fluency in all menu items and ingredients with the ability to suggest beverage pairings.

4. Follows proper steps of service with grace, while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service.

5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including the seating area.

6. Communicates effectively with staff members, management, and the kitchen during service.

7. Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.

8. Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.

9. Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.

10. Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.

11. Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.

12. Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.

Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.

Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.

Developing new cocktail recipes.

Job Qualification : 

Qualifications:

1. 1-2+ years of bartender experience

2. Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time

3. Ability to balance & carry multiple plates, glass racks and or/glasses, and lift objects up to 30 lbs

High school diploma.

4. Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required.

5. Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.

6. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

7. Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.

8. Basic math and computer skills.

9. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

10. Strong task and time management abilities.

11. Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.

12. Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs.
