Position Summary
Greet and provide hospitable , warm and friendly service. Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while providing excellent guest service in a fast-paced environment. Key duties include mixing drinks according to recipes, engaging with guests, checking identification, managing inventory, maintaining a clean workspace, and processing payments using a POS system. Suggest food and special items; engage with the guests to make them feel welcomed and ensure safety of guests. Follow proper safety protocols and handles situations by deescalating and providing guest resolution in a respectful and courteous manner.
Role Responsibilities
- Guest Service: Greet guests in a hospitable warm and friendly manner, take orders, make recommendations, and handle complaints with a positive attitude. Make small talk with the guests and provide them with local information; Recommends and suggests food pairing and special items.
- Drink Preparation: Mix ingredients (liquor, soda, water, sugar, bitters) to prepare cocktails, craft drinks, beer, and wine. May assist with beverage program by suggesting or creating seasonal cocktails.
- Bar Prep: Assist or lead with bar prep and maintain the bar stocked prior to and while open.
- Trouble Shoot: Able to handle common guest complaints /issues or requests in a hospitable manner while maintaining guest satisfaction. Ensure the safety of guests and seek assistance from the manager if a matter escalates beyond the normal.
- Operations & Safety: Maintain a clean, stocked bar area; verify legal age; adhere to health/safety regulations; and manage inventory.
- Transactions: Process cash and credit card payments accurately using a POS system.
- Bar Maintenance: Perform opening/closing duties such as cleaning, restocking, and setting up bar equipment.
- Certification: Maintain up to date required certifications such as the Alcohol Serve Safe andFood Handling Safety Certification as required by the State of Florida
Experience/Skills
- Must be 18 years or older to serve beer/wine and 21 to pour liquor
- Have or Obtain the Alcohol Serve Safe certification within the first 30 days of hire
- Proven work experience as a bartender, often with deep knowledge of mixology and cocktail recipes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to work flexible shifts : Evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment/Physical
- Physical stamina, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy kegs.
- Valid certifications, such as TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol.
- Manual dexterity
- Able to work in small spaces
- Stoop, bend or reach for items, frequently
- Use of sharp knives or objects for bar prep
- Ability to work with speed and in a fast environment
