Purpose:
Responsible for preparation and service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, manages the beverage/bar area, provides excellent customer service, and handles transactions, ensuring compliance with alcohol service laws and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Key responsibilities include taking orders, mixing drinks, assisting with inventory, and creating a welcoming atmosphere to enhance the guest experience.
Essential Job Functions:
Beverage Preparation & Service: Mix and serve a wide range of drinks, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring accuracy and adherence to recipes.
Customer Service: Produce a welcoming atmosphere, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, offer recommendations, and taking drink orders. Handle complaints with professionalism. Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
Bar/Beverage Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked bar and surrounding areas, including washing glassware, managing inventory, preparing garnishes, cleaning and waste management. Able to operate appropriate equipment safely and responsibly according to company standards.
Sales & Transactions: Accurately process payments and balancing transactions. Use of a POS system, manage tabs, and ensure all sales are handled responsibly.
Compliance: Check customer identification to ensure they are of legal drinking age and monitor consumption to serve alcohol responsibly. Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
Other
Answering the phones and referring to the appropriate department or person.
Communicate effectively between departments for special events, vendors, guest meals, visitors, outside providers, and inquiries.
Follow Marketing guidelines for phone inquiries.
All other duties as assigned
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Customer Service & Communication: Friendly demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Mixology & Knowledge: Proficiency in drink-making techniques, familiarity with cocktail recipes, and knowledge of liquor and other bar items.
Multitasking & Efficiency: Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Inventory Management: Basic math skills for cash handling and the ability to monitor and manage bar stock levels. Product order preparation.
Problem-Solving: Critical thinking skills to resolve issues and address customer concerns effectively.
Server Permit and certification: Must be at least 21 years old and obtain an Alcohol Server Permit. Must complete an approved training course that covers alcohol and its effects, recognizing intoxicated customers, preventing disturbances, serving minors, and relevant state laws. Pass a final exam and receive your certificate, which is required for employment. All permits and certificates must remain updated according to state and local ordinance.
