Job Details

The Smart Buildings Project Manager II is responsible for managing multiple complex projects from kickoff through completion. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers while overseeing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, field teams, and project execution.

The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with technical expertise in building automation, controls, energy management, or construction-related projects. Success in this role requires the ability to drive profitability, maintain customer satisfaction, and lead project teams through every phase of delivery.

What You'll Do
  • Manage multiple large-scale Smart Buildings, BAS, EMS, and controls projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations.
  • Track project performance through KPIs, financial reporting, and operational metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency and execution processes.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:
Required
  • 3+ years of project management experience in Smart Buildings, BAS, EMS, controls, electrical construction, mechanical systems, or related industries.
  • PMP or CAPM certification.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, customer relationships, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, technical drawings, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25% as project needs require.

Preferred
  • Experience with BAS/EMS platforms including Niagara/Tridium, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls (JCI), or similar systems.
  • Background in electrical construction, facility management, building automation, or engineering.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex customer-facing projects.
