Field Service Technician – Building Systems / Controls
St. Paul, MN | Direct Hire | $65,000 – $110,000+ (OT Eligible)
Regional Travel (MN & Western WI)
Position Overview
Seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to support building automation, HVAC, and controls systems. This role focuses on troubleshooting real-world system issues, performing maintenance, and supporting customers onsite across a variety of commercial and industrial facilities.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues related to HVAC, controls, and building automation
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on controllers, servers, and field devices
- Communicate system issues and recommend upgrades, repairs, or improvements
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings
- Document service activities and provide clear updates to customers
- Deliver onsite training to customers on system operation and upgrades
- Manage time effectively to ensure customer satisfaction and timely service
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in HVAC, building automation, or related technical field
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Experience with building automation systems and system troubleshooting
- Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP) and integrated systems
- Experience reading blueprints and system drawings
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights
