LINK Staffing is recruiting BAS Controls Technicians for direct-hire opportunities with an established commercial HVAC and building automation company in Houston.


Candidates at different experience levels may be considered, from developing technicians with a strong HVAC, electrical or controls foundation to senior BAS professionals with advanced programming and commissioning experience.


Compensation will be based on your demonstrated BAS experience, technical capabilities, platform knowledge, certifications and ability to work independently.


This is not a residential HVAC service position. You will work with commercial Building Automation Systems that monitor and control HVAC equipment, energy usage and building performance.

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities will vary based on your experience and technical level.

  • Install, start up, test and service Building Automation Systems

  • Assist with or independently perform DDC system commissioning

  • Troubleshoot HVAC controls, sensors, controllers and related equipment

  • Read wiring diagrams, control drawings, mechanical plans and project documentation

  • Download, configure and update controller software

  • Test, calibrate and adjust building automation equipment

  • Verify system operation according to project requirements and control sequences

  • Create or modify BAS graphics, databases and controller configurations

  • Document completed work, system changes and commissioning results

  • Communicate project progress, field conditions and technical concerns

  • Support customer training following system installation

  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, subcontractors and project teams

  • Follow company safety procedures and jobsite requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience or technical training in one or more of the following:

    • Building Automation Systems

    • Commercial HVAC

    • Electrical controls

    • Electronics

    • Industrial controls

    • Mechanical systems

  • Ability to read or learn to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation

  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability

  • Basic computer skills

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in office, mechanical-room and construction-jobsite environments

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

  • Ability to travel to customer jobsites throughout the Houston area

  • Availability for occasional overtime or weekend work when required

  • Independent BAS or DDC installation

  • BAS programming and sequence development

  • System commissioning and functional testing

  • Siemens or comparable BAS platforms

  • Front-end graphics development

  • Field leadership or technician mentoring

  • Manufacturer training or BAS certifications
