VIGO is partnered with a fast-growing Building Automation specialist delivering smart control systems across high-performance commercial environments. As they continue to scale, they’re looking for an experienced BAS Design & Project Engineer to join their New York team.

This is a technical and hands-on design role that sits at the heart of the project lifecycle — translating concepts from sales into fully specified, engineered, and deliverable control systems.

Role Overview

To engineer and deliver fully scoped, documented, and high-quality BAS control solutions — from sizing valves and actuators to creating schematics, selecting DDC hardware, and producing final submittals. You'll collaborate with sales and installation teams to ensure the design is technically sound and install-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Design complete BAS/ATC systems based on initial sales designs and project requirements
• Develop and document control valve and damper schedules
• Select all required DDC components and generate detailed BOMs
• Create project-specific schematic control drawings using AutoCAD and/or Visio
• Collaborate with internal teams and submit RFIs where clarification is needed
• Support integration requirements for third-party systems
• Order all components once submissions are approved
• Contribute to system integration planning and network coordination
• Provide occasional on-site support where required

The Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years’ experience in Building Automation / HVAC controls design
• Strong knowledge of Tridium Niagara and 3rd party integration protocols
• Proficient in ACAD, Visio, and control schematics
• Understands mechanical system sequences and BAS control logic
• Comfortable reading specs, interpreting plans, and generating RFIs
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills
• Familiar with IT/networking as it relates to system design
• Able to work both independently and as part of a close-knit engineering team
