BAS Engineer

VIGO Recruitment is working with a market leader in Building Automation Systems (BAS) to recruit an experienced BAS Engineer in Boston. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established company and play a key role in delivering high-performance HVAC and control system solutions for commercial and industrial clients.

The Role

The BAS Engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting HVAC and BAS systems to meet project specifications and customer requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the sales and project teams to ensure system designs are aligned with technical and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

System Engineering & Application

• Develop and engineer BAS and HVAC systems based on project specifications and client needs.
• Select and apply appropriate products to ensure system performance and efficiency.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and client requirements.

Sales & Technical Support

• Collaborate with the sales team to develop solutions for client challenges related to HVAC and building automation.
• Provide technical expertise to support sales proposals and customer presentations.
• Deliver creative and effective system designs that meet both technical and commercial goals.

Project Coordination & Management 

• Assist with project management during the post-design phase if this aligns with the candidate’s interest.
• Work closely with project managers and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor project progress and provide technical oversight to maintain alignment with project goals.

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial HVAC mechanical systems engineering and/or HVAC control systems engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Visio.
• Deep understanding of HVAC and BAS system design and operation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with sales teams and customers.

Preferred:

• Experience managing projects in the HVAC or BAS industry.
• Ability to develop creative and cost-effective solutions for complex technical challenges.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
