The School District of River Falls is seeking a student centered leader to serve as an assistant Boys Basketball Coach beginning in the 2026-27 season. Candidates must have the ability to teach and coach all aspects of the game while working cooperatively with the head coach, administrators, parents, student athletes and the community. The candidate must have a strong desire to build a competitive program that develops strong character amongst the program''s athletes, and the ability to motivate student athletes to perform at their personal best.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge of basketball related skills, skill development, and strategies.
If no teaching license, successful completion of an approved coach's education course or the ability to complete the course prior to the second season of coaching.
Current certification (or must obtain within one month of employment) and maintenance of CPR/AED and First Aid certification from a national certifying organization.
Ability to initiate and maintain open communication with staff, student-athletes, parents.
Previous coaching/competitive experience in basketball at the high school or college level is preferred.
Ability to work cooperatively with other coaches in the program.
Demonstrate ability to plan, organize, and supervise the team with respect to schedules, equipment, student eligibility, officials, and safety.
Demonstrate a coaching and learning philosophy that includes thoughts on the greater role of athletics, competition,school, and community in an educational environment
Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Must have an understanding of WIAA rules and regulations.
