Role overview

Join our night-shift team to mix, charge, and package compounds to exact specifications. You’ll follow batch cards and production schedules, verify raw material details (TA item codes, lot numbers, weights), and prepare blenders for successive runs while coordinating with adjacent operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn the Line 4 Blending area; fill in on other roles as business needs require.
  • Before charging, clean and inspect the blender to ensure readiness for the next compound charge.
  • Verify all TA item code numbers prior to blending.
  • Stage required raw materials and record all staged material lot numbers on the batch card.
  • Charge all hand-adds exactly as specified on the blender batch card.
  • Report any deviation from procedure to supervision and document it on the batch card.
  • Coordinate blender output with other operating areas to maintain throughput.
  • Review the production schedule and follow customer packaging instructions so product is properly packed, labeled, weighed, and sealed; notify the Bagger Leadman of any scheduling, instruction, or potential issues.
  • Generate labels and align/affix them correctly to each package container.
  • Perform packaging equipment changeovers quickly, efficiently, and cleanly using required safety equipment; communicate with mill area operators when changeover is complete.
  • Prepare packaging materials in advance (e.g., Gaylords, Supersacks) to meet upcoming shift needs.
  • Scan/enter finished product into the computer system accurately.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and wear required PPE at all times.
  • Meet or exceed plant key performance indicators and actively support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Skills and abilities

  • Read and comprehend English; strong basic math proficiency.
  • Ability to drive—or learn to drive—a forklift and operate an electric hand truck.
