Join a production team in Manteno, IL as a full-time, contract-to-hire Batch Mixing Technician. You’ll transform carefully measured ingredients into consistent, high-quality batches by following approved formulations and production schedules. Multiple shift options are available (1st, 2nd, and 3rd).
A Day in the Life
You arrive, review today’s production plan, and pull the recipe packets for your assigned runs. After verifying ingredient lot codes, expiration dates, and quantities, you stage materials in the right order. Throughout each batch you:
Weigh and meter dry and liquid ingredients with precision.
Sequence additions correctly, then operate mixers, water meters, and controls safely.
Track hydration, temperature, texture, and development to ensure consistency.
Fine-tune speeds, times, or additions as directed to keep product on target.
Discharge finished batches into the designated troughs or hoppers.
Document every step—batch sheets, mixer logs, lot tracking, weights, temperatures, times, deviations, and corrections.
Enter production data into tablets or digital systems as required.
Maintain a tidy area and support equipment cleaning and changeovers between runs.
Follow GMP, allergen-control, food-safety, sanitation, PPE, and workplace-safety practices.
What You Bring
Skill reading and following recipes, formulas, and written SOPs.
Comfort with shop math for weights, unit conversions, and portioning.
Meticulous attention to detail for measurements, lot traceability, and paperwork accuracy.
Capability to work around industrial production equipment safely.
Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Comfort in a manufacturing environment with variable temperatures and machine noise.
Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and teamwork.
Flexibility to work the assigned shift and up to six days per week when business needs require.
Preferred
Hands-on experience with industrial mixers and/or kettles.
Background in food manufacturing, batching, blending, or ingredient processing.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $18.00–$26.00 per hour, based on verified experience and skill level.
Shifts: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift opportunities.
