Batch Process Operator – Chemical Manufacturing

As a Batch Process Operator, you’ll run end-to-end chemical production in a plant setting—charging materials, controlling conditions, and packaging finished goods—while meeting strict safety and quality standards.

A day in the life

• Begin your shift by reviewing batch sheets and setting up equipment such as reactors, tanks, conveyors, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Open and stage ingredient bags; accurately weigh and charge raw materials according to batch steps.
• Control critical parameters—temperature, pressure, and tank/reactor levels—making real-time adjustments as needed.
• Document precise process data and reactor conditions on batch records.
• Package finished product into bags, drums, or supersacks following customer and company specifications.
• Move materials manually and with a forklift; perform changeovers, start-ups, and safe shutdowns.
• Keep the work area orderly with routine housekeeping and promptly report any product or equipment issues to your supervisor.

What you bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Forklift operation capability.
• Comfort with basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to lift, push, and move up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
• Ability to wear a negative-pressure elastomeric seal respirator.
• Preferred: experience as a Chemical or Powder Machine Operator.
