Batch Reactor & Blending Process Technician

Step into a Day on the Floor

You arrive, review the batch plan, and bring mixers, reactors, tanks, and pumps online. You dial in flow rates, temperatures, and pressures, then charge materials and keep a close eye on gauges, meters, and control panels. Mid-run, you pull samples and test to confirm the product meets quality targets. If something drifts, you adjust conditions to pull it back into spec. Should equipment act up, you troubleshoot what you can and promptly coordinate with maintenance. Before you wrap, you clean and sanitize the workstation and equipment so the next run starts right.

What You'll Do

• Operate and set up chemical processing equipment, including mixers, reactors, tanks, and pumps.
• Adjust flow, temperature, and pressure to maintain optimal process conditions.
• Monitor process variables via gauges, meters, and control panels to keep product within specification.
• Perform in-process product testing to verify quality standards are met.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate significant problems to maintenance.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment after runs.
• Work overtime as required.

What You Bring

• Basic knowledge of chemistry, chemical reactions, and unit operations used in manufacturing.
• Minimum of two years of related experience or equivalent background.

Physical & Visual Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; climb stairs; bend; lift; twist; pull; push; carry; grasp; reach; and stoop as needed.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Vision capabilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
