Mission:

We are seeking a seasoned and highly motivated material Scientist to develop, synthesize, and optimize next-generation cathode materials for advanced rechargeable battery technologies for Enervenue, inc. You will lead laboratory-scale synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical evaluation of cathode active materials, contributing directly to product development and commercialization efforts.

Position Targets / Outcomes:

  • Electrode Material Development: Design and synthesize novel cathode materials for Ni-H2 battery, develop and optimize synthesis routes, investigate dopants, coatings, and compositional modifications to improve performance.
  • Materials Characterization: Perform and interpret materials characterization using XRD, SEM/FIB-SEM, TEM, XPS, BET surface area analysis and particle size analysis
  • Electrochemical Evaluation: Fabricate cathode electrodes and assemble test cells. Conduct electrochemical testing including Galvanostatic cycling, rate capability testing, cyclic voltammetry and EIS.
  • Process Scale-Up: Transfer laboratory synthesis methods to pilot-scale manufacturing. Support process development, yield improvement, and quality control efforts. Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate manufacturability.
  • Data Analysis & Documentation: Maintain detailed experimental records; analyze large experimental datasets and identify trends, prepare technical reports, presentations, patents, and publications and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years (industry) or strong doctoral/postdoctoral experience in battery materials.
  • Hands-on experience synthesizing cathode active materials.
  • Strong understanding of solid-state chemistry and inorganic materials synthesis.
  • Experience with materials characterization techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design and execute experiments.

Must have:

  • Extensive Experience with DOE (Design of Experiments): Demonstrates the ability to optimize complex processes systematically.
  • Results-oriented: Creative, confident, self-motivated, organized and determination to get results
