Job Title:Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Integration Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Job Summary
Looking for a BESS Integration Engineer with strong experience in power systems, energy storage, and utility-scale or industrial BESS integration.
Key Responsibilities
Integrate BESS with generators, medium-voltage distribution systems, and microgrids.
Work with battery technologies, PCS, protection & controls, EMS, and grid-forming/grid-following inverters.
Support power system modeling, stability, reliability, and availability analysis.
Review EPC and vendor design packages and support technical decisions.
Ensure BESS designs align with applicable industry standards and safety requirements.
Work with vendors and cross-functional teams on technical issues and project delivery.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power Systems, Energy Systems Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in power systems, energy storage, renewable integration, utility, or similar infrastructure projects.
Direct experience with utility-scale or industrial BESS.
Experience with medium-voltage systems, microgrids, or power generation integration.
Experience with ETAP, PSCAD, or equivalent is preferred.
Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, communication, and vendor management skills.
