Description:Join us at Lockheed Martin as a Systems Engineering Associate Manager, you will serve as the leader of the engineering team responsible for multiple FBM battery products.

Location: This position does not support teleworking;the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in either:

  • Englewood CO (Relocation assistance available)
  • Cape Canaveral FL (*No relocation assistance for this location)

You are expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

As a Systems Engineering Associate Manager you will be part of a high performing team of battery experts where you will work on supporting the deployed system, developing sophisticated state-of-the-art battery technology and supporting ongoing production. You will also be supporting flight test operations, work closely with battery vendors, and lead technical investigations.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

  • Oversee the engineering team responsible for development and production of missile battery products
  • Provide technical oversight for flight test operations
  • Oversee the engineering team responsible for manufacturing process development and improvement
  • Lead development testing and hardware qualification
  • Lead technical discrepancy resolution
  • Oversee engineering team's support of producibility, affordability, and obsolescence-driven re-designs
  • Lead Failure Investigation and Root Cause Corrective Action implementation

To be effective in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with full product life cycle - Knowledge of the definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements, coordination and execution of hardware designs, development and integration of hardware for both custom and procured electronic assemblies in accordance with all Lockheed Martin Space engineering process specifications
  • Attend Design Reviews and provide technical feedback
  • 5+ years professional experience.
  • While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Experience leading a technical team.
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus a US Citizen.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Silver-Zinc battery chemistry.
  • Experience working with DoD customers.
  • Prior involvement on the FBM Program.
  • Close collaboration with SLD45 Range Safety Range-Integration Teams.
  • Missile/Aerospace related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with FBM specifications/procedures.
  • Familiarity and experience partnering with SP/SPF Customer Partners.
  • Experience conducting Failure Review Boards and Problem Investigations, with a solid understanding of both execution and follow-up processing.
  • Previous Product Lead and Material Review Board experience.
  • Ability to communicate issues and additional resource needs to leadership.
  • Experience with subcontracted hardware suppliers.
  • Demonstrated project-leadership/management experience across the full hardware life-cycle including design, integration, and test.
  • Exposure to Requalification Activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and with adjacent disciplines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences including design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).
  • Hands-on hardware experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
