Description
As a Battery Engineering Intern, you will support the development of lithium-ion battery packs for use in Impulse’s current and next generation space vehicles. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with flight electromechanical devices.
This role offers exposure to multiple engineering disciplines and the full spacecraft product development life cycle – from design to launch.
Responsibilities
- Support electrical or structural finite element analysis of electromechanical hardware
- Develop battery test hardware
- Support qualification testing and pcb bring-up
- Support battery assembly
- Develop new CAD models
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams
Minimum Qualifications
- Recent completion or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Hands-on project experience (ie Formula SAE, Design/Build/Fly, Senior Design)
- CAD experience (MCAD or ECAD)
- Hands-on experience with electronics or electrical test equipment
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with building battery packs or electromechanical devices
- Experience with Siemens NX
- Experience with ANSYS or Simcenter
- Experience with Altium Designer
Additional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
