By leveraging innovative materials, advanced manufacturing techniques, and next-generation energy storage architectures, we are building the future of sustainable energy.About the RoleWe are seeking a Battery Systems Engineering Intern to support the development and validation of our battery pack systems. This role provides hands‑on exposure to real engineering challenges in a startup environment, including test development, system validation, failure analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration.What You'll DoHelp plan, execute, and document engineering tests for battery cells, modules, and pack systems.Design and build test fixtures and experimental setups for electrical, thermal, and mechanical testing.Support process trial experiments to improve system performance and quality.Collect, process, and analyze test data using engineering tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Excel, or similar).Assist in root cause investigations using structured problem‑solving methods such as 8D.Help with BMS integration into test setups, including wiring, communication, and instrumentation.Assist with system‑level engineering activities such as requirements definition, DFMEA, and validation plans.Work with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, electrical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering) to support development activities.Document results and present findings to the engineering teams.Who You AreCurrently pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fieldStrong interest in battery systems, energy storage, or electrified systemsHands‑on experience with lab equipment, hardware, or prototypingBasic understanding of data analysis and experimental methodsStrong problem‑solving and communication skillsYou're the Ideal Candidate if You HaveExperience with battery systems, BMS, or power electronicsFamiliarity with Python, MATLAB, or similar data analysis toolsExperience with test instrumentation (DAQs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)Exposure to systems engineering practices (requirements, FMEA, validation)Experience working in a lab or hardware development environmentWhy Join UsWork on cutting‑edge battery technologyGain hands‑on engineering experience building real hardwareCollaborate with a small, highly technical startup teamOpportunity to make meaningful contributions to product developmentOnsite ExpectationsThis role is expected to be onsite in our San Jose office every day (M‑F).Expected compensationHourly Rate: $45.00 - $55.00Hourly rate is based on many factors including (but not limited to): market rate, interview performance, level of experience, and geographic location.We are an equal opportunity employer and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy or related condition, or any other basis protected by law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
