What You’ll Do

CEC is seeking an early-career Business Development Associate to support
our growing Business Development team. This role drives new business
activity through outreach support, lead follow-up, CRM management, and
general sales coordination. The position supplements our current
Business Development function and plays a key role in maintaining
pipeline activity, supporting client engagement efforts, and helping CEC
grow within the government contracting space. This role is a balanced
mix of administrative support and business development activity, with
responsibilities shifting based on team priorities and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate records, contacts, and opportunity activity in the
company CRM.

- Track follow-up actions, outreach status, and prospect activity to
support business development efforts.

- Support outreach through email follow-up, warm outreach,
re-engagement of existing contacts, and targeted prospect
communication.

- Assist with prospect research and identification of potential
clients, partners, and opportunities.

- Help manage ongoing business development activity and ensure timely
follow-up on leads and contacts.

- Support internal coordination related to pipeline activity and
client-facing business development efforts.

- Prepare and organize business development materials, correspondence,
and internal documentation using Microsoft Office tools.

- Provide general support to the Owner and team in advancing strategic
growth efforts.

- Assist with additional PMO-related or operational support tasks as
assigned.

Requirements

- U.S. Citizenship required.

- Three years of relevant experience in sales, business development,
account development, inside sales, marketing support, customer
service with outreach responsibilities, recruiting, or a related
function.

- Comfort engaging prospects and contacts through phone, email, and
follow-up communication.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate data
records.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and
Teams.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Self-starter with a professional, dependable work style.

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a small, growth-focused
company environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing,
communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work
experience.

- Experience working in a CRM environment.

- Exposure to B2B sales or business development processes.

- Experience supporting account growth, pipeline activity, or client
relationship management.

- Familiarity with government contracting, including SAM.gov, proposal
support, subcontractor outreach, or capture support.
