In this role dedicated to expansion and progress, the focus is on acquiring new clients and nurturing growth in the industrial chemical solutions sector. The primary responsibilities include discovering, cultivating, and securing major deals, frequently exceeding $150K, prominently at a corporate or multi-location manufacturing level.
Established as a new position, this role is all about generating and nurturing a flourishing pipeline pegged at around $4M, with an annual target of over $500K in new business acquisitions. Once these clients are secured, they will transition to Account Managers after a year, enabling a continued dedication to unearthing new prospects and expanding the business pipeline.
There are no geographic constraints, but commercial opportunities in the Midwest, especially Illinois, Chicago, and Wisconsin, are emphasized due to their market potential. National pursuits are encouraged, particularly where existing networks can be leveraged.
You will be offering a range of industrial solutions, including pre-treatment chemicals, paint process solutions, and comprehensive service packages backed by technical support and application expertise.
### Qualifications:
**Experience Essential for Success**
- Proven expertise in paint pre-treatment or surface treatment chemicals
- Background with industry leaders like Sherwin-Williams, Henkel, PPG Industries, Axalta Coating Systems, Chemetall, or equivalent
- Comprehensive understanding of chemical processes leading into paint applications
- Pre-established network within manufacturing, finishing, or coating sectors
**Additional Considered Experience**
- Experience in specialty chemical sales, including:
- Metalworking fluids and coolants
- Industrial cleaning or process chemicals
- Water treatment solutions
- Broad exposure to chemical applications in industrial manufacturing contexts
**Core Competencies for Success**
- Proven record of penetrating new markets and driving substantial new business
- Experience dealing with manufacturing-centric environments (auto, metal fabrication, etc.)
- Expertise in navigating lengthy, intricate sales cycles with multiple decision-makers
- A disciplined approach to pipeline management, with CRM proficiency, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Expertise in closing impactful, large-scale agreements (typically $150K+)
