Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital License: Must have state nursing license in hand at the time of submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIH, CPI preferred Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience required - Experience with drips on all floors - Capacity to float frequently Description: This position involves providing medical surgical and telemetry care to adult pre- and post-transplant patients. The unit consists of 36 beds dedicated to various organ transplant and rehabilitation needs. Patient ratios are generally 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with the possibility of 1:7 on rare occasions. RNs must be prepared to float as needed to meet the staffing requirements of the facility. Weekend shifts will be scheduled as part of the rotation. Four weekend shifts out of eight possible during a four-week period will be required. Travelers must work two out of three major holidays as part of their commitment. The facility is a smoke-free environment, with no nicotine use permitted. Care teams include a mix of CNAs and support staff to assist in patient care. Compensation package includes details on scrubs required, which must be grey with facility logo. Successful candidates will undergo training to ensure familiarity with the unit's specific processes and expectations. All travelers must comply with facility policies upon confirmation of contracts. RNs will care for a diverse patient population requiring a broad range of nursing skills and competencies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration within the healthcare team. Candidates are expected to manage a variety of medical conditions and participate in interdisciplinary care efforts. Contributions to patient safety and best practices in care delivery are paramount. Additional training may be provided to address unique unit requirements.
