Beazley Summer Internship Program

Job Summary: At Beazley, our summer internship is more than an opportunity to observe. It is a chance to
explore specialty insurance, contribute to meaningful work, and begin building the skills and
relationships that can support a future career in underwriting.

Whether you already know insurance or are discovering it for the first time, this 10-week
paid internship provides hands-on experience, mentorship, structured development, and
exposure to a global specialist insurer.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Beazley intern, you'll be supported through a practical learning and development
experience that includes:

• Hands-on experience working with an underwriting team
• Training in insurance fundamentals, specialty products, and underwriting practices
• Mentorship from early-career professionals and experienced colleagues
• Networking opportunities with leaders, brokers, peers, and underwriting
  professionals
• Professional development focused on communication, analytical thinking, commercial
  awareness, and relationship building

You'll complete the internship with a stronger understanding of specialty insurance, practical
business experience, and a professional network to support your continued development.

During the internship, you will: 

• Work alongside experienced underwriting professionals on team-led assignments
• Learn how underwriters assess risk, evaluate information, and support business
  decisions
• Analyze data and information to identify key risk considerations
• Support the preparation of underwriting materials, exposure profiles, and other
  business documentation
• Complete an individual project and present your findings
• Participate in workshops, networking sessions, and professional development
  activities
• Build relationships with colleagues across Beazley and the wider insurance market

Location: The program is hosted in our Atlanta, GA office.

Skills and Abilities

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Economics,
  Finance, Management, Mathematics, or a related field
• Internship, leadership, extracurricular, or other relevant experience is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business applications
• Fluency in English and additional languages where required by the business
• Numerical aptitude and confidence interpreting information and data

General

• Comply with any specific responsibilities necessary for your role as outlined by your line manager, the Culture & People or assurance teams (compliance, risk, internal audit) and ensure you keep up to date with developments in these areas.  This may include, amongst others, Beazley’s underwriting control standards, Beazley’s claims control standards, other Beazley standards and customer relationship management
• Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system.  These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups

Key Relationships: Brokers, underwriters, other staff, coverholders, external clients and suppliers

The anticipated salary for this role is $27.00 per hour, based on location and other relevant factors.
