Private Bedford family seeks an experienced, warm, calm, and highly adaptable Housekeeper / Family Assistant to support their busy household and four children. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a proactive professional who enjoys balancing exceptional housekeeping, household management, and family support responsibilities within a collaborative family environment.
The schedule will generally be Monday through Friday from 11:00am to 7:00pm, with occasional flexibility as needed to support the family's schedule. The ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a team and can seamlessly transition between housekeeping, family assistant, and childcare support responsibilities throughout the day.
Housekeeping and household projects will serve as the primary focus of the role during school hours, while the children are attending school and extracurricular commitments. During this time, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the residence to the highest standards through detailed housekeeping, deep cleaning, laundry, organization projects, meal preparation, errands, and general household support. As the children return home in the afternoon, the candidate will provide additional family assistant and childcare support as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a calm presence, strong emotional intelligence, meticulous attention to detail, and a positive demeanor while maintaining flexibility and professionalism in a dynamic household.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Perform all aspects of general housekeeping and deep cleaning to maintain the residence in pristine condition
• Maintain the overall cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the home, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living spaces, and common areas
• Dust, vacuum, mop, sanitize, polish, and care for all household surfaces, furnishings, and fixtures
• Execute seasonal and rotational deep-cleaning projects throughout the residence
• Manage household laundry, including washing, folding, ironing, steaming, wardrobe care, stain treatment, and changing bed linens
• Organize and maintain closets, pantries, cabinets, storage spaces, and household systems to ensure an orderly and efficient environment
• Assist with meal preparation and simple cooking following family recipes and preferences
• Maintain household inventories, monitor supplies, and assist with grocery shopping and household errands
• Coordinate deliveries, vendors, service providers, and general household logistics as needed
• Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel
• Support ongoing household projects, organization initiatives, and general family support needs
• Provide childcare support as needed, including school pick-ups, transportation to activities, homework supervision, activity coordination, and assistance with evening routines
• Prepare healthy snacks and meals for the children as needed
• Assist with pet care for the family's small dog
• Work collaboratively with the principals to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the household
• Additional housekeeping, family assistant, and childcare-related duties as needed and requested
Requirements:
• Strong command of the English language with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent references from both current and former employers
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience working as a Housekeeper, Executive Housekeeper, Family Assistant, or similar role within a private household
• Extensive experience performing detailed housekeeping and deep cleaning within a private home environment
• Strong laundry, wardrobe care, ironing, and household organization skills
• Experience preparing healthy meals and assisting with meal preparation
• Highly organized, proactive, and exceptionally detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of household responsibilities
• Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent with a positive attitude
• Receptive to feedback and comfortable working collaboratively with hands-on principals
• Comfortable supporting childcare needs as requested
• Comfortable around pets; family has a small dog
• Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle required
• Strong swimmer preferred
• Willingness to travel occasionally as needed
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality
• Able to legally work within the United States for any employer
Compensation $45 per hour + benefits
