    Duties

    Program Management:

    • Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities for children before and after school.
    • Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
    • Develop and maintain a structured schedule, including time for academic support, physical activities, arts and crafts, and recreational games.

    Supervision and Staff Management:

    • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of program assistants or volunteers.
    • Develop and maintain a schedule to fully staff the program and coordinate subs as-needed.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities to staff and ensure that they are carrying them out effectively.
    • Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss program updates, staff performance, and any issues that may arise.

    Communication and Parent Interaction:

    • Act as the main point of contact for parents regarding the before/after school program.
    • Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their children's activities and well-being.
    • Address parent concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring high satisfaction with the program.
    • Provide a welcoming environment where children feel valued, safe, and engaged.

    Administrative Tasks:

    • Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any important communications related to children and staff.
    • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring that everything is in good working order.
    • Assist with registration and enrollment for the program.

    Health and Safety:

    • Ensure that children follow proper health and safety protocols, including emergency drills, hygiene practices, and nutrition standards.
    • Administer basic first aid when necessary.
    • Enforce rules and policies for behavior, promoting positive discipline and conflict resolution techniques.

    Other Duties: Administration may assign other duties to the Before/After School Coordinator.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred).
    • Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting, preferably in a before/after school program.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.
    • Knowledge of child development and best practices for managing groups of children.
    • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

    Salary/Benefits

    • Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
