Before and After School Site Director - YMCA

• Support planning and coordination of program and its activities.
• Ensure implementation and compliance of YMCA, State and School guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Ensure individual needs of children are met.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, families, school personnel and volunteers.
• Maintain an environment that ensures children, staff and family safety and well being
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that advance all areas of children's development and learning, including social, emotional, intellectual and physical competency
• Conduct program in accordance with YMCA goals and principles of developmentally appropriate practices
• Supervise and mentor group leaders and support staff.
• Support program growth and development.
• Ensure zero tolerance for abuse and actively participate in the protection of youth and teens.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS-(also see State or Director Variance requirements):

• Must be at least 18 years of age (see specific requirements)
• Possess at least 1 year experience working in child care/camp/recreation or related field.
• Ability to use typical business software and office equipment.
• Strong communication, organization and detail skills.
• Understanding of the role of volunteerism within the YMCA.
• Must have strong leadership skills, be self-motivated and possess knowledge of group work principles.

Program Specific Requirements

Site Director-Exemption or Variance

• Certification in the following areas per required timeline:
• Principals of Early Learning & Afterschool
• Engaging Youth 5-9
• Engaging Youth 9-12
• School Are Child Care Director
