We are seeking dynamic, safe, nurturing, and child-centered team members who love working with young children (3-14 year olds).
Hours & Locations: 7:00 - 8:35 am (before school), 3:00 - 6:00 pm (afterschool), and 8:00 am-5:00 pm (on camp days, we offer two shifts and doubles based on student enrollment). School day programs are located in the Capitol Hill and Southwest areas of Washington, D.C.
In this role, you will be part of a team who provides genuine care & makes a true difference in kids' & family's lives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing for and directing a group of children between the ages of 3-14 years (ages vary by program)
- Engaging with children outside on the playground daily, monitoring safety on high levels, and reporting incidents
- Assisting with homework (determined by school)
- Maintaining a fun, positive, safe, and healthy classroom and playground environment
- Leading and creating group activities and games to reinforce learning, social/emotional skills in fun ways, and providing opportunities for children's curiosity and interests to shine
- Interacting positively with team members and parents
- Supporting children in working through conflicts calmly and productively and learning the tools to manage independently/with peers

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this role are:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass fingerprint background check and drug test and all parts of DC Public School's FBI Background Clearance Process
- 1 year or more of childcare experience
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
- All applicants must provide three professional references (providing personal references will disqualify all applicants)
- Must be able to provide high levels of homework support for children in grades K-8
- Familiar with classroom, outdoor, and early childhood safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred qualifications for this role are:
- CDA preferred
- CPR & First Aid certification preferred
- College: Early Childhood or Elementary Education course hours preferred
