Before School Care Paraprofessional

Supervise and engage in activities with students enrolled in the PACE After school program. Assist in maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for the children.

Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 8:30am, 10 hours per week, when school is in session

Job Goal: To effectively provide supervision & child care in the PACE Before & After School Program on school days while maintaining a safe, healthy & nurturing environment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Must be able to:

• perform other tasks as assigned

• Communicate with parents regarding their child and discuss relevant issues with them

• Provide appropriate toys and developmentally appropriate activities for young children

• Maintain a healthy and safe environment for children and keeping room clean and sanitized

• Conduct self in a professional, responsible manner by being punctual, demonstrating appropriate decision making, displaying patience and using positive guidance techniques

• Be willing to care for students in the classroom, outside on the playground or where assigned

• Document inappropriate behavior & health reports when needed

• Willing to attend and participate in staff meetings/continuing education trainings

• Be willing to work at other schools when necessary in emergency, & low staffing situations

• Perform other task as assigned by the Director
