Location:Charlotte/Huntersville, NC area | In-home services generally within 30 miles of the employee’s home

Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 35 hours per week

Compensation: $26–$30/hour, based on experience and qualifications

Position Overview

\n

Ascent Developmental Group is seeking a Behavior Analyst Trainee who is actively working toward BCBA certification and wants more than a traditional RBT position.

\n

This role combines hands-on clinical experience with structured opportunities to develop the competencies needed to transition successfully from RBT to Behavior Analyst. The Behavior Analyst Trainee will provide in-home ABA services while working closely with supervising Behavior Analysts on assessment, treatment planning, programming, data analysis, caregiver collaboration, and other behavior-analytic activities.

In addition to clinical supervision, the trainee will serve in an apprenticeship role with Ascent’s Owner and Executive Clinical Director, gaining exposure to advanced clinical decision-making, case conceptualization, program development, leadership, and the broader responsibilities of practicing as a BCBA.

\n

This position is intended for someone who wants to intentionally prepare for the role and responsibilities of a Behavior Analyst—not simply accumulate supervision hours.

Responsibilities

\n

• Provide high-quality, individualized ABA services to clients in their homes.
• \n
• Implement behavior-analytic treatment plans with fidelity and collect accurate clinical data.
• \n
• Monitor client progress and communicate relevant observations and concerns to supervising clinicians.
• \n
• Collaborate with BCBAs on assessment, data analysis, treatment planning, programming, and treatment modification.
• \n
• Assist with behavior-analytic assessments and other clinical activities under appropriate supervision.
• \n
• Participate in paid restricted and unrestricted fieldwork activities aligned with BCBA supervised fieldwork requirements.
• \n
• Develop competency in clinical decision-making, case conceptualization, caregiver collaboration, assessment, programming, and data-based treatment decisions.
• \n
• Participate in structured supervision, mentorship, professional development, and clinical training.
• \n
• Complete clinical documentation accurately and within required timelines.
• \n
• Communicate professionally and collaboratively with clients, caregivers, supervisors, and other members of the treatment team.
• \n
• Maintain RBT certification and adhere to applicable ethical, professional, organizational, and regulatory standards.
• \n
• Take an active role in professional development and progression toward BCBA certification.

Minimum Qualifications

\n

Candidates must:

\n

• \n
• Hold an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
• \n
• Have at least 6 months of experience providing ABA services.
• \n
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
• \n
• Be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a master’s program in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field that meets applicable BCBA educational requirements.
• \n
• Be actively pursuing supervised fieldwork toward BCBA certification.
• \n
• Be available to work full-time, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
• \n
• Have reliable transportation and be comfortable providing services in clients’ homes.
• \n
• Be willing and able to travel to client locations generally within approximately 30 miles of the employee’s home.
• \n
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
