    Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS)

    Anoka, Minnesota

    $50 - $55/hour | Contract | 2026/2027 School Year

    About the Role

    We are seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) to support elementary students with behavioral needs across multiple school sites. In this role, you'll collaborate with special education staff to develop behavior intervention strategies, provide crisis support, and help create positive learning environments that promote student success.

    Responsibilities
    • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
    • Develop and implement Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
    • Provide behavior intervention, de-escalation, and crisis response support
    • Collaborate with educators and special education staff to implement behavior plans
    • Train school staff on effective behavior intervention strategies
    • Assist with IEP development and implementation
    • Analyze behavioral data to guide interventions and programming
    • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
    • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    Requirements
    • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), OR
    • Licensed Special Education Teacher with a Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 Teaching License
    • Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
    • Experience implementing Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
    • Strong behavior management, crisis intervention, and collaboration skills
    • Ability to support multiple elementary school sites
    • Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are not eligible for this position

    Schedule
    • September 8, 2026 – June 10, 2027
    • 37.5 hours per week
    • Typical hours: 8:30 AM – 4:10 PM
    • Onsite
