This position will travel to various North Clackamas School District buildings. Office location is Annex/ Professional Development Center.

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility (full time or part time FTE) of the Behavior Interventionist is multi-faceted and varied depending on the specific assignment. The Behavior Interventionist works with other staff to develop and implement a comprehensive behavior intervention program to meet the needs of students struggling in the area of behavior. Behavior Interventionists provide direct guidance and support services to help students in developing their abilities to learn and participate within the school setting. In carrying out these responsibilities, Behavior Interventionists will follow District policy, standard practices, and administrative unit regulations.

This position will have an emphasis on supporting the needs of students and families who have experienced trauma. This includes providing professional development on this topic to educators and the parent community as well as designing interventions specific to this need.

License Requirement:

Must hold or be able to obtain Oregon Educator license with a Subject Matter Endorsement specific to the content area taught in this position (i.e. must hold biology endorsement if teaching biology).

Salary:

PLEASE NOTE: North Clackamas Schools is negotiating the licensed contract for the 26-27 school year. Below is our Annual Salary Range for the 25-26 school year:

• Annual Salary Range (2025-2026): $58,788 - $111,463 (193-Day Contract). Initial placement based on education, experience.
• This salary range reflects 1.0 FTE. Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date.
• Stipend(s) are pro-rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment.
• As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive:
• A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards).
• A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD.

Retirement Plan Contribution:

North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience with delivering and facilitating positive results implementing student behavior intervention strategies.
• Current TSPC License.
• Ability to identify students for additional support, design additional support and implement support individually, in small or in large groups.
• In-depth understanding of effective behavior management.
• Successful counseling experience with relevant school-age students, including engaging families in dialogue about students' emotional and social growth and identifying underlying causes of non-school appropriate behaviors and facilitating appropriate action plans.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to create meaningful learning activities and resources for students, teachers, and administrators related to student behavior function and individual behavior planning.
• Strong leadership and communication skills. Provides coaching and consultation to school staff and parents in such areas as behavior management, developmental processes, student supervision and individualized/differentiated behavior planning.
• Knowledge of effective professional development practice and ability to implement program objectives.
• Demonstrated pattern of attendance and punctuality at work and ability to complete work activities to district standard.
• Bilingual/bicultural candidates encouraged to apply.

Desired Qualifications:

• School Counselor or Social Worker experience.
• Successful experience teaching in a diverse student environment.
• Successful experience in a team teaching environment.
• Successful experience in the grade level(s) and/or content area(s)
• Bilingual skills.
• Experience or advanced training in working with students who have experienced trauma.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain an effective learning environment for student learning by assessing and developing action plans for student behavior per District guideline and policy.
• Assess and plan for individual student behavior needs and develop an implementation schedule of support.
• Share and model strategies with teachers, support staff and community.
• Provide support, including job embedded training, to classified and certified staff members centered on best practices in supporting students in the area of behavior.
• Continual growth in professional practice including developing a robust knowledge base of behavior intervention models and strategies.
• Identify trends in student behavior and apply behavior intervention strategies in large and small group settings.
