Position Overview
College Achieve Public Schools is seeking a proactive and student-focused behavior interventionist to support the development of a positive, structured, and achievement-oriented school culture at one of our middle schools. This individual will work closely with school leadership and staff to address behavioral challenges, support classroom management, and build meaningful relationships with students. The Behavior Interventionist will serve as a vital resource in reinforcing consistent expectations, modeling professional conduct, and maintaining a supportive environment where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with school administration to maintain a consistent, fair, and positive discipline system
- Serve as the primary point of contact for behavioral crisis intervention and acute student issues
- Support teachers in managing classroom behavior and holding all students to high expectations
- Proactively circulate classrooms and hallways to monitor and reinforce school culture
- Supervise breakfast, lunch, class transitions, enrichment, and dismissal to ensure order and safety
- Lead behavior-related parent meetings and assist in the development of individual behavior intervention plans
- Oversee in-school suspensions and after-school detention, providing intervention-based support
- Maintain accurate and confidential student discipline records, documenting conferences, incidents, and phone calls
- Provide professional development and daily support to staff on student discipline and behavioral strategies
- Create and present weekly/monthly reports highlighting behavioral trends, infractions, and areas for improvement
- Help instruct students and staff on social-emotional learning strategies and coping mechanisms
- Ensure behavioral expectations are upheld both inside and outside of the classroom, including cafeterias and common areas
- Plan and participate in morning convocation sessions that reinforce behavioral expectations and school values
- Model the school's mission and core values in every interaction
- Perform other related duties as assigned by school leadership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Prefered)
- Minimum one year of experience working in an urban school setting or charter environment
- Proven experience in student management, behavior intervention, and crisis de-escalation
- Deep understanding of school culture-building and classroom behavioral systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Must pass a criminal history background check and meet all state employment requirements
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $60,000$80,000, commensurate with experience
