Location: BROAD RIVER ELEMENTARY (High-Needs School)POSITION PURPOSEProvide therapeutic interventions to foster students' social-emotional and cognitive-behavioral development.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAdvocate for students' social-emotional and cognitive-behavioral skills development.Provide individual and group sessions that teach and roleplay social, emotional, and behavioral skills to students identified through the MTSS Process.Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and key stakeholders to develop and implement behavior intervention plans and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships.Document in the appropriate electronic system on students' behavior, interventions, and ongoing interactions with students.Participate in team meetings and staffing for students including MTSS and IEP meetings as needed.Use Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques with students during intense episodes or outbursts.Participate in professional development sessions including attending conferences and taking specialized courses.Review specific program curriculums, evidence-based strategies, and teaching behavior skills related to job responsibilities.Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the policies of the Board of Education.Ensure adherence to good safety procedures. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and District policies.Perform other related duties as necessary.ADDITIONAL DUTIESPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Science or Arts in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field preferred.EXPERIENCEKnowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, and district-identified database program applications.Experience working with school-age children.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and functions of the job and are not meant to be all inclusive.
