Overview
The Behavioral Rehabilitation Assistant I will provide direct care and one-to-one supervision of patients admitted to the inpatient unit, following department guidelines and written treatment protocols.
- Part-time and full-time opportunities available
- Must be available for nights and weekends
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as assigned, including the review and implementation of behavior management protocols and accurate collection of data on specified behavior(s).
- Provide remote monitoring (i.e. tele-sitting) as assigned (typically 1-3 patients at a time), including review of patient protocol and accurate collection of data on specified behavior(s).
- Assist with implementation of the patient’s daily schedule of therapeutic activities with attention to patient safety and level of adaptive skills.
- Intervene as needed according to behavioral training and protocols to maintain safety of patients and/or others. Use safe handling and physical management procedures.
- Assist in the implementation of protocols following instruction as incorporated into ambulation, feeding, positioning, toileting, splinting, etc.
- Provide assistance and/or 1:1 interaction with the patient upon request from interdisciplinary team members.
- Assist in the assessment of adaptive, leisure, and self-help skills; potential reinforcers; and problem behaviors.
- Assist in the implementation of skill training programs incorporated into the patient’s daily schedule of activities.
- Review and implement behavior management protocols on a daily basis.
- Provide daily record of patient care activities and collect accurate data on specified behavior(s).
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum six months of experience working in a multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary treatment setting required, to include experience implementing
