Role Description The Behavior Specialist is responsible for assessing behavioral needs and helping individuals build positive coping and social skills. Day-to-day tasks include conducting behavioral assessments, developing and implementing individualized behavior support plans, and collecting and analyzing data on behavior change. The role involves coaching and training direct support staff and caregivers, modeling interventions, and providing feedback to ensure consistent implementation of strategies. The Behavior Specialist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, participates in meetings, and prepares clear documentation and progress reports. This position also requires maintaining compliance with organizational policies, ethical guidelines, and applicable regulations while promoting a respectful and inclusive environment.

• Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Psychology to understand developmental, cognitive, and emotional factors impacting behavior.

• Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field.

• Experience working with individuals with developmental, behavioral, or mental health needs in community or residential settings.

• Strong observational, data collection, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate findings into practical strategies.
