Behavior Specialist - Self Craft

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting the Program Administrator in implementing individualized sensory diets and behavior intervention strategies for clients participating in the Adult Program and After-School Program. Collects, tracks, and maintains accurate behavioral and program data to monitor client progress and support program decision-making. Provides guidance and oversight to Enrichment Support Specialists to ensure data is collected accurately, consistently, and according to program expectations. Assists with implementing positive behavior supports, monitoring outcomes, and communicating relevant observations and data to the Program Administrator and program team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Develops and writes FBAs, FAs, BIPs, and behavior goals
• Attends IEP meetings both on and off campus to present progress and proposals
• Supports a caseload of up to 4-5 classrooms
• Collaborates with teachers and support staff to properly implement behavior plans and strategies
• Administers interventions with students using professional standards and school policies
• Works only within their scope of practice as mandated by the BACB
• Analyzes data (may be in collaboration with BI or support staff)
• Provides staff trainings in ABA
• Trains BI's to train classroom support staff
• Conducts fidelity/reliability checks
• Reviews and approves progress report input from Behavior Interventionists each quarter and sign cume file when complete
• Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Masters ABA Program Required
• Two or more years of prior experience working with emotionally disturbed adolescents/children preferred
• Working knowledge of crisis intervention skills and medical and emergency procedures
• Ability to pass and utilize Pro-ACT within three months of employment
• Ability to pass and utilize First Aid and CPR Certification within three months of employment
• A valid California driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Companys insurance carrier
• Dependent upon the client population, prior experience working with severely emotionally disturbed or handicapped students or students with Autism is preferred
• Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional, physical examination, and drug testing
