Behavior Support SpecialistDepartment: Education & TrainingEmployment Type: Part TimeLocation: Association OfficeCompensation: $45.00 - $50.00 / hourDescriptionThe YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our Woburn team on a part‑time basis for support in the after‑school site‑based program as well as during the summer for full‑time camp support. This role will play a key role in supporting children with diverse abilities by developing, implementing, and overseeing individualized behavior intervention plans within our youth programs, including after‐school, camps, and enrichment services. This position supports Y's commitment to inclusion and ensures all children can thrive in a welcoming, supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport with direct services—i.e.—crisis support with behaviors, as needed, and triage with stakeholders.Train direct care staff, as needed.Collaborate with families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistency across settings. Serve as a liaison between YMCA program and the school‑based and other teams working with children and families.Work in collaboration with the YMCA social workers/SEL team.Collect, analyze, and report behavioral data to inform interventions and program decisions.Maintain compliance with ethical guidelines and YMCA policies.Attend team meetings, trainings, and family consultations as scheduled.Provide consultation and coaching to program staff on implementing behavior strategies and supports.Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseQualifications:Master's degree in applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field. BCBA preferred but not required.Minimum of 2-5 years of experience working with children and youth with developmental, behavioral, or learning differences.Knowledge of ABA principles, positive behavior supports, and inclusive practices.Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based, child‑centered environment.Must pass EEC background checks and meet YMCA child protection standards.Experience working with trauma‑informed practices.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in school, after school, camp, or recreational settings.Schedule & Compensation:Part‑time (approx. 10–15 hours/week depending on program needs). (during the school year). Daily onsite from approximately 3‑6 pm and office support as needed.
