Position Summary Esperanza Health Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) to join our integrated behavioral health team serving North Philadelphia. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career behavioral health professionals who are working toward independent licensure (LCSW or LPC) and are passionate about integrated, whole-person care.

This position is grant-funded for an anticipated three-year period, pending final grant approval. Continued employment beyond the grant period is contingent upon funding availability and organizational needs.

Behavioral Health Associates work closely with medical providers and licensed behavioral health clinicians to deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive behavioral health interventions within the context of primary care visits. BHAs may also participate in individual and group counseling services connected to a Drexel University research partnership focused on improving access to behavioral health care through innovative, community-based models.

Key Responsibilities • Provide culturally sensitive, strengths-based, trauma-informed behavioral health services to a diverse patient population • Meet with patients during medical visits to deliver brief, targeted behavioral health interventions • Collaborate with patients and medical providers to develop effective treatment plans and goal-oriented interventions • Create, plan, and facilitate individual and group interventions in innovative formats • Participate as part of a multidisciplinary care team, including collaboration with community health workers as part of a research study • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and crisis management as needed • Document services and patient progress accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) • Assist with referrals to higher levels of behavioral health care and connect patients to community resources

Education & Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Family Therapy Actively working toward LCSW or LPC licensure Experience providing services to individuals with behavioral health and substance use needs Knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally competent practice Experience in integrated behavioral health or primary care settings preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively under stress Intermediate computer skills, including EMR documentation Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, or willingness to participate in Spanish immersion training
