Health Advocates Network is currently seeking an Audiologist to work at a facility in West Brentwood, NY. These are registry positions with our company. $100 Sign-On Bonus

Pay Rate: $40 / hour

Qualifications:
• NYS Licensed Audiologist
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology
• BLS certified.
• Minimum of four years working in a Mental Health facility.
Essential Functions:
The contracted Audiologist agrees to provide Audiology services to the in-patients of Pilgrim Psychiatric Center. These services shall be rendered through:
1. Direct contact between Audiologist and patients.
2. Consultation with treatment team.
3. Participation in the continuing interdisciplinary evaluation of individual
patients for purposes of initiation, monitoring and follow-up of
individualized treatment plans, therapy, and discharge planning of patients with hearing disorders.
4. Treatment services interpreted as an extension of the evaluation process
that include:
A. Direct therapy with patients by providing initial audiological screenings/evaluations for all new admissions. and complete assessments in accordance with the American Speech & Hearing Association's (ASHA) scope of practice guidelines.
B. Consultation with appropriate staff for hearing improvement
and education activities.
C. Collaboration with appropriate staff to develop specialized habilitative, rehabilitative and therapeutic programs for improving the communication skills of individuals in areas of hearing.

D. Collaboration with appropriate staff to develop individualized Hearing aid protocols.
Performs hearing aid evaluations and repairs. Dispensing and adjusting hearing aids as well as
other amplification devices.

E. Makes referrals to other disciplines as indicated by the needs of the patient or documents
rationale for not doing so.
F. Conducting in-service training for professional & direct care staff on communication and/or
hearing disorders, corrective and rehabilitative techniques.
G. Confers with medical staff regarding audiological problems and makes recommendations
regarding appropriate patient referral (e.g., ENT) and management.
H. Monitor calibration of audiometric equipment and supplies in compliance with ASHA
guidelines.
5. Participation in all trainings required for direct-care, and contracted staff.
6. Information on results of evaluation and assessment of patients will be given in clear concise
form and provide detailed information on the patient in a timely manner. These summaries will
be written so that a person unfamiliar with the patient will be able to understand the patient as it
relates to audiology including past therapy, goals for present phase of therapy and any specific
methods that work best with the patient including referral for medical and other professional
attention as clinically indicated. Evaluations will conform to the medical record format now in
use at PPC.
7. Any other assigned duties as need to comply with applicable Federal and State regulations.
8. Demonstrates competency in the skills required by the facility by completing initial & ongoing annual competency assessment by a peer.
