Job Title: Behavioral Health Clinician Wage Range: Depending upon experience and licensure, Position Supervisor: Chief Medical O>icer Employment Type: Part-time or Full-time employment Summary of Position: The Behavioral Health Clinician at TCH is considered part of the primary care treatment team. They assist in identifying, triaging, and managing patients with medical and behavioral health problems within the primary care setting. In addition, the Behavioral Health Clinician will provide more comprehensive and long-term management of patients with complex BH needs, including substance use disorder. The BHC will participate on an on-going basis with a collaborative evaluation of patient's needs as well as with QA processes to ensure appropriate patient screening and follow up on general depression and anxiety. The BHC will provide skill training through psychoeducation and patient education strategies and will develop specific behavioral change plans for patients and behavioral health protocols for target populations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Able to work in an integrated primary care behavioral health program consistent with the philosophy, service goals and health care strategies of TCH following HRSA guidelines. Must provide integrated services and participate as a key member of the care team to all patients served by TCH. • Assess and provide brief, solution-focused therapy and coordinate services to primary care patients in crises or those with behavioral health needs. • Provide targeted assessment and evaluation including diagnostic impressions and communicate diagnostics impression and functional status to primary care providers. • Participate in complex case management and staH huddles to assist with anticipated patient behavioral health needs. Work with all health staH to provide integrated and quality patient partner care. • Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions and treatment planning. • Function as a patient advocate by providing follow-up counseling and coordination with primary care providers. • Maintain a professional and supportive presence with patients and colleagues to facilitate treatment eHectiveness. • Provide services that are culturally appropriate. • Provide input as requested into the development behavioral health program integration, service expansion, and Policies and Procedures under the guidance of the TCH Chief Executive OHicer and Chief Medical OHicer. • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient documentation as dened by TCH policy. • Maintain strict condentiality for all patient/partners and their families and TCH information. • Abide by the policies and procedures, clinical guidelines and protocols established for TCH, and state and federal regulations for practice as a licensed practitioner. • Maintain active license and certications required to practice in the State of Alaska Specications: • Successful completion of TCH credentialing and privileging process. • Recredentialing will be completed every two (2) years. • Must have procient knowledge in the following areas: cause and symptoms of behavioral health issues, prevention strategies, needs and risk assessment, substance abuse, family dynamics, impact of trauma, understanding of crisis management and ability to deal with life threatening situations including prevention of suicide, individual and group counseling methods, traditions of Alaska, relevant legislation, policies and procedures, program management and delivery, program evaluation, ability to speak English. • Must demonstrate the following skills: analytical/problem solving skills, good decision making, mediation and negotiation skills, conict resolution skills, eIective counseling skills, eIective verbal and listening communication skills, computer skills, eIective written communication skills, eIective public relations and public speaking skills, research and program development skills, stress management skills, time management skills, ability to work cooperatively as a team member. • Must demonstrate the following personal attributes: trustworthy, respectful, culturally aware and sensitive, exible, possess sound work ethic, able to maintain standards of conduct. • Preference may be given to providers with experience providing trauma-informed care, substance abuse treatment, family counseling, or experience with pediatric as well as adult patients. Education and Experience: Education: Masters degree or equivalent graduate training from a graduate school of social work, counseling, psychology or related field from a regionally accredited university. License: Maintain a current, active license with the State of Alaska as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, or Psychologist.
