BEHAVIORAL HEALTH COUNSELOR 


Community Psychiatric Institute has been a dedicated and committed leader in Behavioral Healthcare and Substance Abuse treatment in Essex County for over 54 years. We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our team serving individuals with chronic mental illness.  If you are committed to helping others achieve stability, independence and improved quality of life, we want to hear from you.


Responsibilities include:


Provide supportive group and individual counseling in our outpatient setting.
Perform timely records documentation utilizing an EHR including progress notes and treatment plans.
Collaborate as a part of our multidisciplinary team to provide person centered mental health services.
Work collaboratively with program participants, their families, and community partners to assist in achieving client's treatment goals.



Requirements:


Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related field of study.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


The ideal candidate for the position will have previous experience working with individuals with mental health or co-occurring disorders and enjoys working in a supportive team environment.

Pay range: $41,600 to $52,000 annually based on experience

40 hour work week.
