TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH – LPC, LCSW, or other mental health credentials

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:       HEALTH DIRECTOR

CONTROLLING SUPERVISOR: Chair

STATUS: Regular, full-time

LOCATION: Newkirk, OK


QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a Master’s Degree from an accredited program in Counseling, Social Work, or related field. Requires a current Oklahoma license as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), licensed professional counselor (LPC), or similar credentials. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of diagnostic techniques and treatment therapies related to behavioral health. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Must have experience and willing to treat across the life span (children through adult) and substance abuse disorders. Must have some experience with ICD-10, and CPT coding.  Must be proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have a valid driver license and be insurable.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Developing individualized treatment plans based on the specific needs of each client.
  2. Providing counseling sessions to individuals, groups, and families across the lifespan.
  3. Utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and/or other therapeutic approaches to help clients understand and change their behaviors.
  4. Coordinating with other healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to care.
  5. Monitoring clients’ progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary
  6. Educating clients and their families about mental health conditions and coping strategies
  7. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with confidentiality laws and ethical guidelines.
  8. Work with clients to identify situations or behaviors that interfere with their recovery.
  9. Referring clients to additional resources and services, such as support groups, inpatient treatment facilities, or vocational training programs.
  10. Staying informed about the latest research and developments in behavioral health.
