POSITION SUMMARY
The Behavioral Health House Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned behavioral health residential homes, ensuring resident safety, well-being, regulatory compliance, and a therapeutic living environment. This role supervises Community Living Associates, coordinates staffing and household operations, and partners with clinical and program leadership to implement behavioral plans, person-centered goals, medical supports, and quality services.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE COMPETENCIES
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to remain stationary for extended periods; move throughout residential and office work areas; walk, stand, climb stairs, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform occasional pushing, pulling, and assisted lifting of up to 50 lbs.; operate standard office equipment and technology; communicate effectively; and maintain the visual ability necessary to perform essential duties. These requirements are necessary to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with applicable law.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health, psychology, social sciences, or a related field preferred. Relevant supervisory, case management, and/or intellectual and developmental disability services experience may substitute for education.
Experience: Relevant experience supervising staff, managing residential services, supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and coordinating behavioral health or case-management services.
Licenses/Certifications: Must obtain and maintain Certified Medication Technician, Mandt, and CPR/First Aid certifications; complete advanced Mandt training as required; and complete required training related to CFAP residents and individuals classified as sexual offenders.
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to interpret policies, procedures, professional materials, and governmental regulations; prepare reports and business correspondence; present information effectively; apply sound judgment and practical problem-solving; and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Background Requirements: Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening.
Driving Requirements: Valid Maryland Driver's License with fewer than 3 points, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record under Agency and insurance-carrier criteria.
Work Schedule: Flexible schedule including evenings, overnights, weekends, on-call coverage, local travel, and on-site response to emergencies as assigned. Work is performed primarily indoors in office and community-living settings, with occasional outdoor activity, frequent deadlines, and possible video and/or audio monitoring.
