Job Description

Obtain consent forms from parents/guardians to allow youth to participate in direct services from BHIS staff. Conduct Behavioral Health Screening Assessments and provide non-therapeutic counseling services based on findings in assessment. Provide case management to identify and connect clients with additional resources that support the youths behavioral health, including linking access to Providents Counseling and Psychiatric Services as well as referrals to external providers when additional or specialized support is needed. Connect youth and their families with referrals for more intensive behavioral health services and community resources, when appropriate. Provide psychoeducational presentations to youth in schools to teach strategies for supporting wellbeing and healthy coping. Deliver community outreach and awareness presentations for youth, parents, and school staff to increase understanding of behavioral health issues, promote access to care, and connect participants with Providents menu of services. Develop and foster strong, positive relationships with teachers, counselors, principals, and other school staff to identify students who could benefit from behavioral health interventions and connect them with care. Provide individual and group intervention, including but not limited to behavioral health screening assessments, psychoeducation, nontherapeutic counseling, and case management services to students. Achieve target number of services provided to the school each month. Screen target number of youth each school semester. Provide target number of psychoeducational classroom presentations per month. Assess and address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement support plans for youth at the school. Monitor and track students' progress via outcome tools and provide appropriate interventions. Document all services provided to youth and the school in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in a timely manner and consistent with Providents policies and guidelines. Complete mandated reporting to Childrens Division for suspected abuse or neglect of youth, if encountered during interactions with youth in the school Work Conditions and Environment Position is full time, 35-40 hours per week, during the academic year. This is a 10-month position with summers off when school is not in session. Typical work hours include being on site at partner school(s) during hours when school is in session. This position is predominately on-site at one or more school sites in a partner school districts. School locations span the St. Louis metro area, including Jefferson County. Occasional travel to one or more of Providents office locations is also required. While this is a school-based position, physical workstations are available at Providents Creve Coeur office, when needed. Must have reliable transportation to all job sites and school-based locations. As this is a community-based position, must be able to independently navigate worksite(s), including navigating throughout the school buildings to escort youth to and from appointments, observe classrooms, and provide presentations. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to physically interact with youth in age-appropriate activities during services (ex. play skill building games). Must have stamina to provide live, in person presentations in small to large group settings for 30-60+ minutes. Attend in-person trainings and meetings on site at one or more Provident office locations, or community based throughout the St. Louis metro area, as needed. Anticipated work hours for this position are based on Providents work and holiday schedule, which may differ from the assigned school(s) schedule. Coordinate your work schedule and work tasks for days when school is not in session with your supervisor in advance.
