Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a part-time Behavioral Health Professional to join our Youth Stress and Mood (YSAM) Program, a nationally recognized program dedicated to improving the mental and physical health of youth through the development and evaluation of treatments for depression, self-harm, and suicide prevention. Key responsibilities include:
Salary range: $50.21/hr - $73.15/hr

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related mental health field (Advanced degree preferred)
Training, coursework, or experience in mental health, behavioral health, or related human services settings
Experience working with youth experiencing suicidality, self-harm, mood disorders, or other behavioral health concerns (preferred)
Ability to assess and support children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing elevated suicide risk, self-harm behaviors, depression, or other complex emotional and behavioral challenges
Ability to effectively support and communicate with families, caregivers, and support systems regarding treatment recommendations and care planning
Experience in a research, academic medical center, or hospital based setting (preferred)
Familiarity with evidence-based interventions for adolescents and young adults (Preferred)
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed to meet department and participant needs
