Senior Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) | Vinita, OK

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Senior Behavioral Health Unit in Vinita, OK. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using the nursing process and established hospital and unit standards. This position provides direct patient care while supporting the physical, emotional, psychological, and psychosocial needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient progress, and outcomes using appropriate medical terminology.
  • Monitor patient functional status and identify changes requiring intervention.
  • Facilitate patient discharge through appropriate referrals, care coordination, and patient education.
  • Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health professionals, nurses, and other healthcare disciplines.
  • Provide patient and family education using resources appropriate to the patient's age and cultural and psychosocial needs.
  • Participate in performance improvement, quality initiatives, and educational activities.
  • Complete variance and other required reports accurately and timely
  • Work effectively with patients, families, internal and external customers, healthcare professionals, and hospital leadership.
  • Maintain professional communication and confidentiality at all times.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Up to 6 months of related experience required.
  • Working knowledge of general disease-state management, the biopsychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing clinical and numerical information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Strong critical-thinking and independent decision-making skills.

Education

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing and completion of the basic professional nursing curriculum.

License & Certification

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma or a valid multistate RN license permitting practice in Oklahoma.
