Behavioral Health Support Specialist lll, Extended Psychiatric Unit

The Behavioral Health Support Specialist III is an advanced level therapeutic professional on the EAC unit. This role provides leadership within the therapeutic milieu, mentors BHSS I and II staff, facilitates complex group and individual interventions, and ensures recovery-oriented, trauma informed care is consistently delivered. BHSS III staff serve as stabilizers of the milieu, promoting emotional regulation, skill development, community integration, and treatment engagement, while supporting professional growth of staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field required unless employee is progressing through BHSS II track.
• Ability to demonstrate professional boundaries, calmness under stress, and relational engagement skills.
• Completion of BHSS II role or Bachelor's Degree required. Certified Peer Specialist, Certified Recovery Specialist, Community Health Worker (CHW).
• At least 1-2 years of experience in Behavioral Health, Human Services, Residential Care, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, or Recovery Oriented setting preferred.
• Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification and Comprehensive Crisis Management certification within 6 months of start date in department/position
• Position requires a valid PA Drivers License and MVR.
• Strong trauma-informed relational engagement, consistently demonstrate emotional diffusion in a high stress environment
