Schedule: Full-Time
Schedule Requirements: 1st shift every Saturday and Sunday, plus 3 weekdays per week. Weekday schedule may vary.
Pay: $22–$24 per hour

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to the BHT team while supporting the day-to-day operations of an adult Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment program. This position is responsible for staff scheduling, training, development, performance support, and ensuring appropriate staffing coverage to meet the needs of the program and clients.

The BHT Supervisor works closely with clinical and program leadership to promote quality client care, staff accountability, operational consistency, and compliance with organizational, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide regular supervision, leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Behavioral Health Technicians.
• Develop, maintain, and adjust staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and minimize unnecessary overtime.
• Coordinate orientation and training for new and existing BHT staff.
• Monitor staff documentation and ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and program standards.
• Participate in the hiring process, including interviewing candidates and collaborating with Human Resources on candidate selection.
• Support performance management and disciplinary processes in accordance with company policies.
• Conduct and contribute to staff performance evaluations.
• Participate in treatment team meetings, shift changes, staff meetings, and other program meetings as needed.
• Monitor staff engagement and provide support during challenging situations or client crises.
• Assist with crisis interventions and ensure client safety and appropriate staff response.
• Coordinate client transportation and related logistics as needed.
• Track inventory and manage confiscated client belongings in accordance with program policies.
• Maintain regular communication with staff through verbal updates, written communication, and shift logs.
• Promote a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for clients.
• Ensure staff follow established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Complete all required training and maintain current certifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support client care and program operations.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

• Previous Behavioral Health Technician experience required.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience working in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or a related healthcare setting preferred.

Certifications:

• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively lead and support staff in a fast-paced behavioral healthcare environment.
• Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to client behavioral concerns and crisis situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
