Job description
Overview
As a Behavior Technician, you’ll work directly with children to build communication, social, and daily living skills through play-based, hands-on activities. You’ll implement behavior intervention strategies, track progress through data collection, and collaborate with families and a clinical team to support each child’s development. The role is active and engaging, typically involving in-home sessions during afternoons/evenings. No prior ABA experience is required, paid training and ongoing supervision are provided. Within 90 days, you’ll be supported in earning your National certification. Overall, it’s a part-time, entry-level clinical role focused on meaningful behavior change, skill development, and improving quality of life for children and families.

What You’ll Do


Teach Through Play: Help children build skills like communication, social interaction, and daily routines using fun, engaging activities


Be a Positive Role Model: Encourage progress, confidence, and independence — and celebrate wins (big and small!)


Stay Active: Sessions involve movement, play, and hands-on engagement


Track Progress: Collect session data and notes (we’ll train you on everything)


Support Families: Work collaboratively with families and your clinical team to support each child’s growth


Schedule & Pay


Pay: $18.00–$25.00/hr + Hire on Bonus 


Schedule: Primarily weekday afternoons/evenings (3:30pm–8:00pm); some weekend availability preferred


Setting: Mostly in-home services, with some center-based sessions depending on client needs


Paid Training: Training is compensated at the same hourly rate as your clinical role

Requirements


High School Diploma or GED


At least 6 months of experience working with children (paid or volunteer — babysitting counts!)


Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance


Ability to pass background and health screenings


Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently


Patience, energy, and a genuine love for working with kids


Certification Requirement:


All Behavior Technicians are required to pass the BACB Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) exam by the end of their 90-day probationary period. Little Scholars Services provides training and support to help you succeed.
