Okie Staffing is currently hiring a Bench Carpenter to work with a local woodworking and cabinetry manufacturer. This role involves assembling, finishing, and repairing custom cabinetry and wood components with a high attention to detail to meet client specifications.
The Bench Carpenter will work primarily at a bench or workstation performing cutting, assembling, sanding, and finishing tasks on various wood products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble wood components including cabinets, shelves, and furniture pieces according to blueprints and shop drawings
- Perform sanding, finishing, and minor repairs to ensure quality standards are met
- Cut wood parts using hand tools, power tools, and bench machinery
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace
- Collaborate with other shop staff to meet production schedules
- Inspect finished products for quality and craftsmanship
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous carpentry or woodworking experience required, especially in #bench work or #cabinetry
- Ability to read and interpret basic shop drawings and blueprints
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Strong work ethic and reliability
